Lloyds Boss Horta-Osorio to Dodge Fraud Review Panel?

With chairman Horta-Osorio leaving Lloyds Bank next year, the question is whether he will coast to the final line, rather than putting his energy into the continued problem of the HBOS and Lloyds fraud.

Whilst the Sir Ross review of the bank’s redress scheme reported “serious shortcomings” little appears to have been done to help fraud victims, several of whom signed “full and final” settlements, without the knowledge of the full extent of the fraud.

Another former judge, Sir David Foskett is to lead a panel to “re-review” cases, but victims have been noting a hardening of attitudes to them by the top echelons at the bank.

Why does it seem that senior bankers prefer to go into retirement with the epitaph of “couldn’t really be bothered” rather than one of “I did my utmost to put things right”? #banking #risk #finance #lloydsbankfraud #horta-osorio
